Website measurement

Vital Flow Therapy uses Google measurement tools to understand how visitors find and use this website and whether advertising helps potential clients connect with me. Google Tag Manager manages tags for Google Analytics and Google Ads. These tools are not used for personalized ads or remarketing.

Google Tag Manager and the Google measurement tags load as soon as you visit any page of this website, including the Contact page, before you make any choice. The cookie notice is for information only: selecting Accept hides the notice and remembers that you have seen it for 30 days, but it does not turn any tag on or off.

Google may receive information such as the page visited, referring page, general device and browser information, an approximate location derived from an IP address, and advertising click identifiers when applicable. The tags also record when you select a link to book a free consultation and when you submit the contact form, so I can see whether the website helps people reach me. Form contents, appointment details, and client or clinical records are not sent to Google through these measurement events.

If you do not want these tags to run, you can block cookies and trackers in your browser settings or with a content-blocking extension.

Therapy and contact information

Website measurement is separate from therapy services and clinical recordkeeping. Do not include sensitive health information in website analytics or tracking interactions. Information submitted through the contact or booking services is governed by the privacy and security practices of the applicable service and is not used for Google advertising personalization by this website.

Contact form

When you use the contact form, I collect your name, your email address, your message, and your phone number if you choose to add one. Your browser sends this directly, over an encrypted connection, to a Google Apps Script that emails it to my Google Workspace email account. I use Google Workspace under a HIPAA business associate agreement with Google. Your message stays in my email account until I delete it. I use your information to reply to you, and I do not add you to any mailing list.

Submitting the contact form is counted as a measurement event, as described above, but what you type is not sent to Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Tag Manager, and it is not put in the web address.

Please do not use this form for emergencies. It is not monitored continuously. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of suicide, call or text 988. If there is an immediate life-threatening emergency or a suicide attempt in progress, call 911.

Booking a consultation

The Contact page uses an appointment-request window from SimplePractice, the practice management system I use. Your browser contacts SimplePractice when that page loads, and anything you enter in the window goes to SimplePractice, which handles it under its own privacy and security practices. SimplePractice may load its own analytics and payment tools, including its own Google Tag Manager, which I do not control. You can read SimplePractice's statement on security and privacy. This is separate from the Google measurement described above.
